Storytelling through Movement and Visual Art

Storytelling through Movement and Visual Art in partnership with South Gosforth First School and resident artist John Quinn.

Purposeful play, live, improvised storytelling and sketching in pencil and charcoal underpin this Year 3 residency, which focuses on strengthening emotional intelligence and restorative practice with pupils, teaching teams and the wider school community.

As an experienced facilitator, multi-disciplinary artist and a Thrive practitioner, John brings extensive expertise and resourcefulness to this dream-weaving exploration of the children’s emotional and imaginative inner worlds.

“The project has been carefully considered by professionals working for GLOW Newcastle and really tailored to meet the needs of our pupils. The staff and professionals have been reflective and amended and refined their practice, taking on board feedback in order to achieve the best outcomes for our children. In addition, by taking part in the project, the pupils have had a wonderful, creative and enriching experience which I believe they will remember for a very long time.”  Rob Adams, Headteacher, South Gosforth First School
