Susan helped the children use 3D sculpture to explore their chosen concepts of equality, diversity and inclusion with a focus on wellbeing and positive mental health.
Each school completed one sculpture with Susan which reflected their individual creative priorities within this theme. The sculptures were: “Dream Tree” at Cheviot Primary; “Love Makes the World Go Round” at Farne Primary; “Big Dreams” at Kingston Park Primary, and “You Belong Here” at Wyndham Primary.
Ashley McCluskey at Kingston Park Primary described the impact of Susan’s CPD interventions with staff, sharing creative delivery styles and objectives from participatory arts practice, as well as 3D sculpture making skills. Each head of year then developed a sculpture independently with their year group, turning the #InspiredBy partnership project into a whole school activity. The projects then extended into parent workshops, engaging the wider school community.
