We’re delighted to be sharing our inaugural Annual Review as a charity!
In September 2023, GLOW Newcastle became a charitable organisation, growing out of the Newcastle Cultural Education Partnership, or NCEP.
Between September 2023 and February 2025 we established partnerships and set up residencies in 8 learning settings across Newcastle, including first and primary schools, secondary schools, alternative academy provisions and Newcastle College. Each residency included:
Beyond residencies, we established #GlowTogether, a cross-Sector network sharing insights and opportunities in regular online events and our termly newsletter “The GLOW“.
We connected organisations across Sectors and project managed the MOBOs 2025 Fringe activity for Tyneside Cinema, Beyond the Screen.
We brought over 70 young people across Newcastle and Gateshead to work with inspirational artists to create two films, all in six weeks.
We recruited local filmmakers, dancers and videographers from Black and Global Majority backgrounds, actively promoting fair representation and networking in the Creative and Cultural Sector, and we continue to promote and support fair representation in all our work.
